To World Racers coming home + the Church of America,

Seeing Revival in America is something I believe the Lord has spoken and when I think about it, my heart feels like it is leaping in my chest! Even amidst these circumstances that can feel crazy and scary, I know that God is bringing REVIVAL to this country right now.

Within the last week, God has reminded me of some Scriptures that speak hope and Truth. 

Revelation 12:11 “They TRIUMPHED over him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” 

Sharing testimonies of how we see God working is more important now than ever. God is working this whole situation for good, and I fully trust that. However, the enemy sees this and is also fighting in an attempt to instill the spirit of fear and disunity among the nations. We need to encourage each other with our testimonies! I pray that our greatest fear would be the fear of the Lord and that we would be united now more than ever. 

How can the enemy be triumphed over? By Jesus’s blood (which He already took care of) and by the word of OUR TESTIMONY. I pray that this would be a time that we are bold in the testimonies we speak and that we don’t hold back for fear of man. I’m praying this over myself in this time! 

 

Testimony 1. light is streaming in!

Two nights ago before going to bed, I felt like God told me He was going to show me something cool the next morning. So, yesterday morning as I was sitting in worship, I saw the same picture that God first gave to me in March of last year on my Race. The picture that I so frequently saw, but didn’t know what it meant at the time, was a dark room with a single window that was small. Light was streaming in, but the window was pretty small compared to the room. This left a line of light across the ground, but much of the room was still dark. While I was team leading in Swaziland, one of the girls on my team was sharing her art journal with me one night. She flipped to a page and there I saw this exact picture that God had shown me so many times on my own Race. And the crazy thing was that on it, there were so many words written on it about American revival! Yesterday, God showed me that picture again. Then, all of a sudden the window changed into a door that bursted wide open! So much light came streaming into the darkness. I felt like the Lord was saying that He just created a way for more light to come streaming into this country. For those of you who don’t know, World Race had to make the difficult decision of bringing all squads back home for their safety. Yesterday was the day that the squad I led made it back to America. World Race brought home 500+ missionaries alone, and I know that they are one source of light that is streaming into this country right now, through this wide open door! Even when it seems like there is more darkness and fear now than before, I truly believe that it is quite the opposite. The incredible thing, I believe, is that even though fear is heightened in our nation right now, there is more light streaming in than ever!!

 

Testimony 2. frontline!

At training camp this summer, we as a leadership team spent a lot of time praying for the squad and asking God what He was speaking over them and us. One of my good friends received a vision of what our time team leading would look like. She explained to us that the picture was of an army with a frontline. The frontline was us as leaders, and we would train our army by example and by leading them into things that they may have never experienced before. We were helping to prepare them for battle just as we would be stepping into battle as well. World Race posted something the other day, updating us all about Corona Virus, and I loved this line. “We are not terminating mission trips but repositioning an army.” This army has spent the last seven months being trained up in other countries all around the world, and now they are being positioned here to bring light and to share their testimonies! I love what another one of the girls I led shared in coming back home. Seven is the number of completion. Even though you didn’t know you would be on the Race for seven months, God knew from the beginning. He has completed in you what He wanted to, for you to be ready to battle in America. As I was thinking of all the squads coming home, I was reminded of Ephesians and the armor of God. 

Ephesians 6:14-17 “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

For Racers coming home, be encouraged that God is using you in mighty ways! I believe that you are a source of light that God is allowing to stream into this country right now. Ministry might look different than what you are used to, but I think that a BIG way you will bring light is by sharing your testimonies. The enemy is TRIUMPHED over by the word of YOUR testimony. Continue to share your light and hope! I am praying that for each of you, you feel and see that your feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Remain in the truth that even if you don’t feel ready, God has trained you for such a time as this.

To the Church! Our call is not much different from theirs^. We are also called to share testimonies and to proclaim to our nation the hope that is in Jesus! 

I believe REVIVAL is here and that we are about to see so many mighty works of God. It is our responsibility to be good stewards of the stories that God allows us to be part of! I encourage you to share with others, whatever that looks like. Great news is that even with social distancing, we have the tool of using social media to share with others! 🙂
