Hi everyone!

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted on this blog! Here’s a little update that I shared on Facebook the other day and wanted to share here too since I’m going back to the AIM base in Nicaragua this summer!

I’m excited and humbled and nervous and expectant to step from one season in Central America this semester to another this summer! My friend Grace Ooley and I will be joining REAP Granada in Granada, Nicaragua for the summer as interns, learning and growing and serving in this beautiful community that I had the chance to get to know a couple years ago on the World Race. We will get to spend time in fellowship with the body of Christ in this community through house churches, discipleship/building intentional relationship, partnering with youth groups that come to REAP, visiting prisons and feeding programs, and more, with the desire to learn more about what it means to follow rabbi Jesus and to love the community of creation.

With the desire to live into God’s heart and interdependent design for community, based on the community of believers in Acts 2, Grace and I are intentionally choosing to raise support together! if you’d like to partner with us, we’re selling shirts/sweatshirts! they say “su paz es prometida,” meaning, “his peace is promised.” Jesus said, “my peace I leave you, my peace I give you.” It’s a promise but also an invitation for us to live into God’s vision of shalom – a vision of peace, flourishing, and communal wellbeing.

I love this design, because it is two hands making a (pinky) promise. This represents a commitment to live into God’s vision of peace and shalom as a community, beyond experiencing peace internally and individually.

Here is the link if you’re interested in buying a shirt! It will be open for the next 8 days!! Above all, we would love prayerful support. It is such an honor to get to share my journey of walking with Jesus through words, so I also want to say thank you for continuing to read my blog. I’m so humbled and so thankful for the love and support that I so consistently and abundantly receive from my community.

You can also donate here. Click “general fund” and let me know if you decide to make a donation that way, so that I can let Scott, the director of REAP, know that the donation is going toward the money Grace and I are fundraising!

En la paz de Cristo,

Elena
